just got off the phone with the jd dealer and i have been going crazy over either the kubota l3400 or the john deere 790 so i decided today it would be a 790 and i got it for $14,400. The reason i selected the 790 is because they are tough and i could use the money that i saved to buy my finish mower and also build my shed i'm gonna need now. I know i would have liked the hydro transmission on the kubota but i don't think for my use it would have been that much better.

Sounds to me like you shopped around, compared, and made a choice with a machine and dealer that suited your taste and likings. I think you will be VERY happy and satisfied with the 790. To be honest, you could not have gone wrong with any of the choices you looked at. ....

Greetings and Welcome to the 790 owners guild:)
I have been very happy and never been disappointed by my 790 with 419 FEL and KK finish mower. Yoy will be surprised at how much Umph this LITTLE tractor has. It runs out of weight before it runs out of tourqe.Enjoy and be SAFE.

i forgot to tell you that i got the r4 tires filled and got a 300 loader. do you think this is a good deal, and also i'm considering trading in my lawn mower on a finish mower. ....
